Roger Wilco satisfies an essential part of team game play: good communication. A self-proclaimed "virtual walkie-talkie," Roger Wilco allows players to communicate by voice in real-time, during multiplayer gaming sessions. Effective communication can mean the difference in a battle, on any scale.

This software supports an impressive number of platforms from the Mac System 7.1 to Linux. It also supports both peer-to-peer connections as well as a client-server configuration. The UNIX platforms are only supported by the server application called the Base Station.

Roger Wilco is small, fast and unobtrusive. This is the ideal game communication package for lower bandwidth (modem) and older computers. It is also the only package to use in mixed computing environments. Its only serious drawback is the audio quality. When they say "walkie-talkie" they mean it. Even on the highest audio settings, all voices sound uniform and robotic. This makes it challenging in heated combats.

In summary, a good package to use if you have limited resources. However, with more than four people online conversations and tactics are challenging.
