Phillip Alex Haddox

Alex Haddox was the co-founder and the Product Manager of the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center (SARC), one of the industry's premier computer anti-virus laboratories as featured in Fortune. He was a leading member of the global team deciding the future for Symantec's AntiVirus products and team. Mr. Haddox oversaw the direction of the Center and was responsible for the weekly Norton AntiVirus updates in which new virus definitions are added to Norton's database of known viruses. His team researched new virus technology worldwide.

Mr. Haddox was with Symantec for seven years, starting in 1991. He has written user documentation for Norton AntiVirus, and as a member of the Platinum Support group, advised Fortune 500 corporate clients and the Symantec sales force on anti-virus issues. In 1994, he became a Virus Definitions Engineer in the AntiVirus Research Center and was promoted to Product Manager of SARC in November of 1995.

Mr. Haddox is an internationally recognized computer virus expert. He has appeared on national radio and television on many occasions including interviews on Good Morning America, CNBC, the Discovery Channel and Fox News Network. He traveled internationally, speaking at large venues on the dangers of computer viruses and the technologies to reduce their threat.

Mr. Haddox has been a member of the Advisory Board for Virus Bulletin, one of the industry's leading publications, and a leading member and Symantec representative to the International Computer Security Association's Anti-virus Product Developers Consortium (ICSA AVPD) and Malicious Mobile Code Consortium (ICSA MMC).

Following his tenure with Symantec, Mr. Haddox went to work for his wife's Internet company as Vice President of Business Relations. Beverly Hills Software (www.bhs.com) is a web development and publishing company specializing in Windows NT applications. While at BHS, Mr. Haddox was responsible for creating strategic business alliances, negotiating with customers and partners and managed the year-long transition of the company to its new parent after its sale to the publishing giant, Internet.com.

Mr. Haddox now works as a consultant to a major pharmaceutical company in Southern California.
