What is EverQuest II (EQII)?
EverQuest II is an online universe that exists parallel to the hugely successful gaming phenomenon EverQuest®. Featuring breathtaking graphics and a vast, beautiful game world to explore, EverQuest II sets new standards in graphical realism as players are immersed in the game's powerful epic storyline with thousands of players online.
Set 500 years after EverQuest, EverQuest II is a new and different game experience in a world marred by a series of massive cataclysms. Players enter this world by creating their own unique character from 16 races and 48 classes, using a powerful customization system for unprecedented player individuality.
Players will encounter hundreds of creatures as they travel across the majestic landscape of rolling hills, barren deserts, dense forests, and bustling cities. Thousands of new items, hundreds of new spells, and unparalleled adventures await all who enter the world of EverQuest II.
Is EverQuest II an expansion of or sequel to the original EverQuest?
EverQuest II is not an expansion, but rather a parallel universe that continues the ongoing history of Norrath and its inhabitants. EverQuest II will introduce a number of features that have never been utilized in massively multiplayer games.
What 3D engine will EQII use?
EverQuest II utilizes a proprietary 3D engine, which was developed in-house by the EQII programming team. The EQII engine takes full advantage of current cutting edge 3D hardware, as well as future hardware technology.

Once I subscribe to EQII, should I expect new content be added to the game?
Absolutely. A dedicated team of quest and content designers will be acquired prior to launch. Assembling the content team early is necessary to assure a steady flow of quests and content into the game world.
Can I transfer my characters that I created in the original EQ to EQII?
Existing EverQuest characters will not be transferred to EQII.
When will EQII be released?
Our anticipated launch date is 4th Quarter 2004.

Class Archetypes
Fighter
Fighters use brute strength and sturdy weapons to deal physical damage to their enemies. Always at the forefront of combat, fighters stand toe-to-toe with opponents while keeping their allies from harm. No matter the risk, fighters never back down from a challenge.
Professions:
Warrior -> Berserker or Guardian
Brawler -> Bruiser or Monk
Crusader -> Paladin or Shadow Knight
Mage
Mages wield powerful forms of magic to strike down their opponents. Students of all things arcane, mages study spell books and scrolls to gain mystical knowledge. They stand behind the frontlines, casting deadly attacks on enemies while bolstering the capabilities of their allies.
Professions:
Sorcerer -> Warlock or Wizard
Enchanter -> Illusionist or Coercer
Summoner -> Necromancer or Conjurer
Priest
Priests augment and replenish the health of their comrades to help them survive longer in combat. Though not particularly known for their battle prowess, priests fill a vital role in a dangerous world by sustaining the physical and spiritual needs of their party.
Professions:
Cleric -> Templar or Inquisitor
Druid -> Warden or Fury
Shaman -> Defiler or Mystic
Scout
Scouts use stealth and cunning to explore the unknown. Highly skilled at detecting and disarming traps, they are experts at infiltrating the lair of the enemy. In combat, scouts rely upon the element of surprise to inflict opportunistic damage and gain an advantage over their opponents.
Professions:
Rogue -> Brigand or Swashbuckler
Bard -> Dirge or Troubadour
Predator -> Assassin or Ranger
Trade Skils
A journeyman of sorts, an Artisan learns the basic skills of all things crafted. New to the trade, they might craft simple food and drinks for travelers, or even a small dagger or simple long sword.
Don't let their eagerness for gaining knowledge of techniques and recipes fool you, though. Many have created weapons and armor from the unique metals and reserves of the land. Some of the best will one day become masters themselves.
As the Artisan nears the end of their apprenticeship they will be known for their basic understanding of the widespread knowledge of general crafting. They will seek out a workshop or school where they may further gain knowledge in more definitive arts.
