Welcome to Earth & Beyond, the first online role-playing galaxy. It's your turn to pilot your own starship, adventure in a massive galaxy, and take part in a thriving community. Alien encounters, fierce combat, cutthroat commerce, new discoveries, perilous quests, strategic alliances, diplomatic backstabbing, and epic wars await you and the friends you meet online.
Earth & Beyond allows you to build your character and career in three distinct ways: exploration, trade and combat. The game is designed around these three activities, and each race, profession, skill, starship and item affects how well you excel in these core activities.
Explorers have access to hidden locales, the best sensors, the most accurate maps, the fastest ships, stealth capabilities and other unique abilities.
Tradesmen make and sell goods, run trade routes, go on trade missions, possess the biggest cargo holds, and do whatever it takes to make a profit.
Warriors thrive on combat, destroying enemies, engaging in dangerous missions, and protecting their friends during perilous adventures.
There are three races: Terrans - the masters of trade, Progen - the masters of combat, and Jenquai - the masters of exploration. Players can further customize their character by selecting a class. The best traders in the game will be the Terran Tradesmen. The best fighters will be the Progen Warriors. The best explorers will be the Jenquai Explorers. Players can also choose to be hybrids, their abilities stemming from any two of the three classes.
Whichever profession you choose, you will gain access to secret and exotic technologies to aid you in your adventures. Install cloaking devices to sneak past hostiles. Install high-powered engines that get you across the galaxy in mere minutes. With hundreds of items to gain and skills to learn, you can customize your character, ship and your tactics in near limitless ways.
You will get one ship per character which is upgradable. Your initial choice of race and class determines your starting ship configuration. Each ship permits a certain number of items to be mounted on the hull. For example, your ship may initially permit the addition of three weapons systems, which will change as your ship becomes more powerful. You have the option of using a variety of different types of weapon delivery systems, and your ship's appearance will correctly reflect your mounting choices. As you become more powerful, so too does your ship by increasing the number, type and quality of mounting points for additional systems.
You will have a high degree of flexibility in how you advance your character. Although the race and profession dictate your character's skill set, character advancement can take many different routes. You will be able to specialize in different areas with your abilities and skills, which can still make you quite different from other characters of the same level, class and race.
The galaxy is populated with thousands of other adventurers, each with their own identities and stories to create. Some you meet will become lifelong friends, others deadly enemies. Group up and journey into areas where no one would dare go alone. Face insurmountable odds and emerge victorious as you work together to reach your goals.
You'll witness the birth of stars. Watch Black Holes suck the life from suns. Unravel the mysteries of a derelict ship graveyard. Be the first to explore an alien world. If battle is more to your liking, arm your ship and engage a host of enemies, factions, and aliens on hostile planets and in space. Or be the sole producer and distributor of the hottest technology in the galaxy. (source: Electronic Arts Inc.)
