I. BACKGROUND:
So, what is Dancing Blade Katteni Momotenshi? (btw, Kanzenban means
"complete"). Well, I guess that the best way to describe it is as
an interactive anime, falling under the category of action-comedy.
So far as I can say, it's the most gorgeous animation I've ever seen,
due to its good animation, and perhaps more so to the fact that even
compressed, it looks almost good enough to actually be off tape and/
or laserdisc and/or DVD (take your pick). Although the game really
isn't hard (especially since there's no real "losing" per se), it's
a great deal of fun, and I highly recommend picking it up if you
get a chance.
Anyways, on to the FAQ! =)

II. MAIN MENU OPTIONS:
Note: The title screen will change according to which ending you
last got. You can't get back the original title screen, though, at
least not without starting over. =(

a) Start (hajimekara)
Obviously, start a new game.

b) Continue (tsuzukikara)
Continue a game. Note that you can only have one saved game.

c) Movie appreciation (movie kanshou)
Check out movies and movie sequences. Go to the "MOVIE MODE SELECT
MENU" section for further details.

d) Extras (omake)
See some pretty interesting (and pretty weird) stuff. Go to the "OMAKE
MODE SELECT MENU" section for more detail.

III. IN-GAME MENU:
To access the in-game menu, press the Start button while in the middle
of a "scene". Note that you -have- to do it in the middle of a scene;
it won't work when you're at a decision point. Also, it's not applicable
for the first two scenes; it'll instead just skip past them.

First, it'll ask you whether you'd like to save or not.
a) Yes (Hai)
b) No (Iie)

Then, you get to pick whether to keep on playing.

a) Resume game (game wo saikai)
b) Quit (shuuryou)

IV. MOVIE MODE SELECT MENU:
There are two choices here you can pick from.

a) Relive favourite scenes (suki-na scene wo saisei) Pick and
choose which scene you'd like to view. Go to the "SCENE SELECT
MENU" section to see which scene is which.

b) Director's cut Find out what the game makers considered their
"ideal" paths for each ending. Go to the "DIRECTOR'S CUT MENU"
section for more information.

V. SCENE SELECT MENU:
On each page, there are nine scenes that you can pick from (except
the last, which has only seven). In the upper right (if you hadn't
noticed), it tells you which disc the scene's on. Anyways, in order,
here's the list:

VI. DIRECTOR'S CUT MENU:
As is fairly obvious, here you can see what the programmers considered
"ideal" routes to go through the game. From left to right is:

a) Momohime
b) Nayotake
c) Oinu
d) Kijime

VII. OMAKE MODE SELECT MENU:
Here, you can check out various interesting extras. iirc, one opens
up as you finish the game with each ending, with the last opening
up the last two extras.

a) Summary Mode (arasuji mode)
Find out the history of the characters. Go to ARASUJI SELECT MENU
for additional information.

b) Preview (jikai yokoku)
See a preview for Dancing Blade Katteni Momotenshi II: Tears of Eden
(side note - this is actually a preview for the secondary plotline,
the one for Oinu and Kijime).

c) Extra Movie 1 (omake movie 1)
See a movie of "Momotenshi Shitsumon Corner" (Momotenshi Question
Corner) which is -really- quite random.

d) Illustration Gallary
Check out some pictures of the various characters and vehicles in
Momotenshi.

e) Omake Movie 2 (omake movie 2)
No description - you just have to see it. It's .... um ... odd.

VIII. ARASUJI SELECT MENU:
The characters in order are:

a) Hero's Story (shujinkou hen)
b) Momohime's Story (momohime hen)
c) Oinu's Story (oinu hen)
d) Sarukichi's Story (sarukichi hen)
e) Kijime's Story (kijime hen)

IX. PLOT BRANCHING:
For simplicity's sake, I'll just use the movie numbers (listed above).
I hope that you can follow this - it's going to be a little messy
and a little complicated.

To explain how this works:

04 -> 05 -> 07

-> 06

This little snippet above means that at the end of scene 04 there are two

choices given. The first choice takes you to scene 05, the second to scene 06.

Both reconverge to scene 07.

Note that "->" means you get a choice in which scene you next get. "=>" means

that you do NOT get a choice - this is dependent upon previous choices.

I figure everything should make sense from this point onwards.

01 -> 02 -> 03 -> 04

-> 41 (hop down quite a ways - this is the Oinu/Kijime path)

04 -> 05 -> 07 -> 08 -> 11 -> 12 -> 14 -> 15

-> 06 -> 09 -> 13 -> 19 (skip down a little)

-> 10

15 -> 16 -> 18 -> 20

-> 17

19 -> 20

<disk change before 20, scene 61>

20 -> 21 -> 23 -> 24 -> 26 -> 27 -> 29 -> 30 -> 32 -> 33 -> 35 -> 36 -> 38

-> 22 -> 25 -> 28 -> 31 -> 34 -> 37

<at this point, you get either 39 or 40, depending on what choices you've

made. so far as I can tell, the most important decision is actually choosing

between 24 and 25 - don't take my word on it, though. =P>

38 => 39 -> 60

=> 40

41 -> 42 -> 44 -> 45 -> 47

-> 43 -> 46

<disk change before 47, scene 61>

47 -> 48 -> 50 -> 51 -> 53 -> 54 -> 56

-> 49 -> 52 -> 55

<again, you either get 57 or 58, depending on what choices you've made so

far.>

56 => 57 -> 59 -> 60

=> 58

X. CREDITS AND THANKS:
I'd like to thank my roommate Wayland for use of his DreamCast and
games (it's his, actually.... ^_^;;). Also, KCET for making a really
fun game!
